Because of the impact of Covid-19, Oncology and Kids has made the decision to offer two different camp options this summer for our camper/family population. We are excited to offer "Virtual Camp" and our in-person "Family Camp".
Our hope is that in 2022 we will return to our normal six in-person camp sessions described below, along with a virtual camp offering.
The image below describes who is eligible for each 2021 camp session:
1. Families must first have at least one child in the family under the age of 25
2. The family must currently or formerly have a parent or child diagnosed with cancer. The member of the family that qualifies the participating family for this program will be referred to as the “Hero” of the family within all registration materials and notices.
For further clarification on eligibility, please reach out to us directly at cr4ts@oncologyandkids.org.
Yes, it is a different registration, however, you can register for both Virtual CR4TS and Family CR4TS by visiting CampDocs found here: https://app.campdoc.com/!/?r=oak
As Family CR4TS is free of charge and has a capacity at KOA Temecula/ Vail Lake, registration will be closed as soon as capacity is reached. To ensure all families are registered in time for the final information packet to be delivered. Registration is handled via CampDocs found here: https://app.campdoc.com/!/?r=oak
Family CR4TS will be held at KOA Temecula/ Vail Lake in the Temecula California area. The actual address is: 38000 Hwy 79 South Temecula, CA 92592

Yes. Family Camp is available to qualifying families free of charge. Please reference previous question about qualifications. However, there is a limited number of family slots available for Family CR4TS, so be sure to register before capacity is reached.
OAK Family CR4TS will not require any proof of vaccinations to attend. The weekend program will allow for families to interact outdoor at their own level of comfort.
Each family will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the KOA Temecula/Vail Lake campground. If assistance is needed, please contact OAK Camp leadership at CR4TS@oncologyandkids.org
Normal campground arrival time will be determined as soon as a new date is chosen. Check-out is at the regular campground departure time of 12:00pm on Sunday. There is a chance the campground will allow early arrival or late departure, so please stay tuned.
Each family will be assigned their own campground site. Families can either pitch tents, park an RV, or simply sleep out under the stars in their assigned space.
No, it is not necessary to have an RV. Most families will be tent camping.
If you do not own or have access to borrowing a tent, please contact OAK Camp leadership at CR4TS@oncologyandkids.org. Additionally, there are websites where families can rent RVs from individuals. Two RV rental sites include but are not limited to www.outdoorsy.com and www.rvshare.com. Oncology And Kids are not affiliated with either of those sites.
As each family will be assigned their own personal camp space, each family will need to park all of their vehicles within that space.
Add an answer to this item. Each individual campsite includes a picnic table, a firepit, water hose hookup, and space for an RV or Tent. *Electricity and sewer for RV hookup is available only on a limited basis. *Priority to those electrical hookups sites will be given to those families with special medical equipment.

Yes, in addition to the limited number of campsites that have direct electrical hookups, there will be electrical stations that will allow people to plug in. As mentioned, camp families in need of assistance with their medical equipment will be given priority to the power boxes and will be assigned the family spaces nearest to those power boxes.
We will be in an area of the campground called the Arroyo Seco and Lower Arroyo Seco. This section of the campground has three buildings that include toilets and showers.
Currently, Oncology And Kids will be providing a portion of the meals during the Family CR4TS session. We are currently working to secure all of the meals for the weekend. If you have any leads to possible meal donations, please reach out to a member of the leadership team at CR4TS@oncologyandkids.org Families are welcome to bring any additional meals and or snacks to make their weekend more enjoyable. There are also plenty of grocery stores and restaurants in the nearby area to access as well.
Family CR4TS will have medical staff onsite to provide basic first aid support for all campers for the weekend. The management of all medications will be the responsibility of each family and will not be the responsibility of any OAK volunteer.
We are still developing the specific weekend program schedule, but rest assured that there will be several optional large group activities, and plenty of quality family time.
In addition to the activities available at the KOA Temecula/ Vail Lake campground (hiking, mountain biking, swimming pools, disc golf, mini golf, basketball, pickleball, and horseshoes) OAK will have several special activities planned.
